Suzuki Marine has a rich history in the city of Crowley, Texas. The company was founded in 1909 by Michio Suzuki as a loom manufacturing company in Hamamatsu, Japan. However, it wasn't until the late 1950s that Suzuki began to explore the world of marine engines. In 1965, Suzuki introduced their first outboard motor, the D55. This motor quickly gained popularity due to its lightweight design and impressive performance capabilities. By the early 1970s, Suzuki had expanded their line of outboard motors and had established themselves as a leading manufacturer in Japan. In 1981, Suzuki Marine opened their first overseas production facility in Thailand. This marked the beginning of their global expansion and laid the foundation for future growth. Fast forward to 1997 when Suzuki Motor Corporation acquired Outboard Marine Corporation (OMC), one of America's oldest boat manufacturers based in Waukegan, Illinois. With this acquisition came major changes for OMC's facilities across North America. One such change was moving production from Waukegan to newly built state-of-the-art facilities located just outside Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex area – specifically Crowley, Texas. Crowley is a small city located about an hour south-west of Dallas with a population just over 13,000 people. In December 1998, construction on what would become known as "Suzuki Manufacturing of America" (SMA) began on approximately sixty acres purchased from OMC. The new SMA facility consisted initially of two buildings totaling approximately seventy thousand square feet; one building was designated for assembly while another housed warehousing operations – both were constructed using steel framing techniques common among modern commercial construction projects at that time period. By April 2000 all equipment previously used during OMC’s manufacturing process including presses and paint booths arrived via trucks shipped directly from Lake Michigan into North Texas' newest little industrial hub. With the arrival of OMC's manufacturing equipment, Suzuki began producing their outboard motors in Texas. This marked a significant milestone for the company as it was their first production facility outside of Japan. The plant quickly became known as one of the most advanced and efficient marine engine factories in the world. Suzuki Marine's presence in Crowley not only brought job opportunities to the area but also boosted local economy through partnerships with suppliers and dealerships. In 2005, SMA expanded their operations by adding an additional fifty thousand square feet to accommodate increased production needs. The following year, Suzuki Motor Corporation announced that they would be investing $15 million into expanding their Crowley plant even further. This expansion created over 150 new jobs and doubled the size of SMA’s facilities to nearly two hundred thousand square feet. In addition to producing outboard motors, SMA also manufactures other marine products such as propellers, rigging kits and controls systems at its state-of-the-art facility in Crowley. Today, Suzuki Marine is recognized globally for its high-quality engines that are renowned for their performance, reliability and fuel efficiency. Their success can be attributed to continuous innovation and investment in research and development – all while maintaining a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. Throughout its history in Crowley, Suzuki has remained deeply involved with both community outreach programs as well as sponsoring various events throughout North Texas region focused on outdoors-related activities including fishing tournaments benefiting St Jude Children's Research Hospital among many others! In conclusion, Suzuki Marine's decision to establish a production facility in Crowley has had a tremendous impact on both local economy and global market presence. With continued growth and success over the years, it is clear that this partnership between Crowley,Texasand Suzuki will continue driving innovation within the boating industry for years to come.

Suzuki Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational corporation that specializes in manufacturing automobiles, four-wheel drive vehicles, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), outboard marine engines, and wheelchairs. The company was founded by Michio Suzuki in 1909 as Suzuki Loom Works in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka Prefecture. In the late 1950s, the company diversified its production to include small cars and started exporting them to other countries. In 1965, they released their first motorcycle model – the Colleda COX - which became an instant success. This marked the beginning of their expansion into the global market. By the 1970s, Suzuki had established itself as one of Japan's leading car and motorcycle manufacturers and began looking for new opportunities for growth. They identified an untapped market in outboard marine engines and decided to enter this industry. In 1977, Suzuki established American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) in Brea California as its subsidiary responsible for marketing and distribution of its products in North America. However, it wasn't until 1981 when ASMC set up a facility specifically focused on building outboard motors – known today as Suzuki Marine USA LLC - located on a sprawling property just outside Crowley Texas. The facility was strategically chosen due to its proximity to major waterways like Lake Granbury and Possum Kingdom Lake where boating activities were popular among locals. This allowed for easy access to testing facilities while keeping close ties with local boat manufacturers who were potential customers. Initially starting with only three employees assembling two-stroke models from imported parts from Japan; within five years since opening doors at Crowley Texas plant; over forty percent of all units sold domestically were manufactured here locally! As demand continued increasing so did investment along with employment at this site making it one of largest manufacturing hubs dedicated solely towards producing premium quality high performance outboards used by recreational boaters throughout United States. In 1997, Suzuki Marine USA LLC expanded its operations with the addition of a new $20 million facility that increased production capacity by three times. This allowed for more models to be produced and introduced in the market, including four-stroke outboard engines which were gaining popularity due to their fuel efficiency and environmental friendliness. As one of Japan's leading manufacturers in the boating industry, Suzuki Marine continues to expand globally with sales offices established in key regions such as Europe, Asia Pacific, and South America. With a history rooted in innovation and dedication towards providing top-notch products, it is no surprise that Suzuki Marine remains a trusted brand among recreational boaters worldwide.

Crowley, Texas is a small city located in Tarrant County, just south of Fort Worth. With a population of approximately 18,000 residents, Crowley may not be the largest or most well-known city in Texas, but it has a rich history and unique character that make it a beloved home for its residents. The history of Crowley dates back to the mid-1800s when pioneers began settling in the area. The town was officially founded in 1882 when landowner S.H. Crowley donated 100 acres to the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway Company for their railroad depot. This marked the beginning of what would become known as "Crowley Station" and eventually just "Crowley." In its early years, Crowley was primarily an agricultural community with cotton being its main crop. However, with the arrival of the railroad came new opportunities for growth and development. By 1915, Crowley had established itself as a thriving town with several businesses including banks, grocery stores, hotels and even a newspaper. One major event that put Crowley on the map was the discovery of oil in nearby Burleson in 1931. This led to an influx of people looking for work and resulted in significant economic growth for both towns. Today, oil production still plays an important role in supporting local businesses and providing jobs for residents. Throughout its history, Crowley has faced challenges such as natural disasters like floods and tornadoes but has always bounced back stronger than before thanks to its resilient community spirit. Local businesses thrive thanks to the support of loyal customers who enjoy supporting their community. In recent years, Crowley has experienced rapid growth in terms of population and development due to its proximity to Fort Worth which makes it a convenient location for commuters while still maintaining its small-town charm. Overall, what sets Crowley apart from other cities is its strong sense of community pride and spirit that can be felt throughout all aspects of life within the city limits. Whether it's through annual events celebrating its history or supporting local businesses or simply being good neighbors towards one another – this tight-knit community truly embodies the saying "everything is bigger in Texas," even if that just means bigger hearts.

Suzuki Marine, a division of the Suzuki Motor Corporation, has been a leading manufacturer of outboard motors for boats and marine engines since its inception in 1965. The company's history is marked by innovation, dedication to quality and reliability, and a commitment to environmental responsibility. The Beginning: A Legacy of Innovation The story of Suzuki Marine begins with the founder, Michio Suzuki. In 1909, at just 22 years old, he founded his own loom manufacturing company called "Suzuki Loom Works" in Hamamatsu, Japan. However, it wasn't until World War II that the company began producing motorized vehicles such as bicycles and small cars. In the late 1950s, Michio's son Shunzo took over as president of Suzuki Motor Corporation and had a vision for expansion into new markets. He saw potential in the growing demand for recreational boating and decided to enter the marine industry. Innovation was at the core of Suzuki's approach from day one. They were determined to create an outboard motor that would be more efficient than anything on the market at that time. After extensive research and development efforts led by engineer Kenichi Kimura in collaboration with Tohatsu Motors Co., Ltd., they unveiled their first prototype engine -the D55-1- at Tokyo International Trade Fair in October 1962. This revolutionary design featured innovative features such as electronic ignition instead of magnetos which became standard practice among all outboard manufacturers later on due to its efficiency gains; aluminum alloy crankcases which were both lighter weight but also offered better heat dissipation properties compared to traditional cast iron ones; propeller shafts made from stainless steel instead of brass or bronze reducing corrosion issues; direct fuel injection technology providing improved fuel economy while also reducing emissions; long-shaft designs allowing larger boats' owners greater flexibility when choosing power options without having concerns around draft depth restrictions. The Birth of Suzuki Marine In 1965, after three years of development and testing, the first production model outboard motor was launched - the D55-1. It had a two-stroke engine with a horsepower rating of 5.5hp and was marketed as the "Power Free." The name came from its unique ability to pivot up and down for easy transportation without any tools or tilt mechanism. This innovative design quickly gained popularity among boaters worldwide, especially in Japan where it became the top-selling outboard motor within just one year of its release. The success of this first product laid the foundation for what would become known as Suzuki Marine. Expansion and Growth Suzuki continued to expand its lineup in the following years with more powerful models such as the D70 (7hp) and D100 (10hp). In 1979, they introduced their first four-stroke outboard motor, which offered improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions compared to traditional two-stroke engines. During this time, Suzuki also expanded globally by establishing sales networks in Europe and North America. They also began supplying outboard motors to other manufacturers such as John Deere who used them on their tractors' power units. This diversification helped establish Suzuki's reputation as a reliable supplier not only in marine but also other industries. Environmental Responsibility As concern for environmental issues grew in the late 20th century, Suzuki took proactive steps towards reducing its impact on nature. In 1996 they developed their own "Clean Burn Technology" which dramatically reduced exhaust emissions by optimizing fuel combustion through electronic control systems further advancing direct-fuel-injection technology that had previously been pioneered back during those early days when Kenichi Kimura led R&D efforts at Tohatsu Motors Co., Ltd.. In addition to technological advancements, Suzuki has also committed itself to sustainable practices throughout all aspects of its operations. They have established strict recycling programs, reduced their carbon footprint, and implemented eco-friendly materials in their production processes. Innovating for the Future Suzuki Marine has continued to push the boundaries of innovation in recent years. In 2014, they introduced the world's first dual-propeller counter-rotating outboard motor -the DF350A- which offers increased power and maneuverability while also reducing fuel consumption. They have also focused on developing environmentally friendly electric outboard motors with zero emissions. In 2020, they released their first battery-powered model -the "e-THINK"- which is designed for small boats and inflatables. Today, Suzuki Marine has a diverse lineup of products ranging from compact portable models to high-power engines capable of handling large vessels. Their dedication to quality and reliability has earned them numerous awards over the years, including multiple JD Power Awards for customer satisfaction. Conclusion As we look back at Suzuki Marine's history, it is clear that innovation has been at the core of everything they do. From their humble beginnings as a loom manufacturer to becoming one of the top global leaders in marine technology today, Suzuki Marine continues to set new standards for performance and environmental responsibility. Their commitment to delivering reliable products that cater to various boaters' needs makes them a trusted brand among customers worldwide. The city of Crowley, Texas has a rich and diverse history that dates back to the mid-1800s. From its humble beginnings as a small farming community to its growth into a bustling city, Crowley has seen many changes over the years. Early Settlement: The first recorded settlement in the area now known as Crowley was established by pioneers from Missouri in 1848. These settlers were lured by the fertile soil and abundant water sources in what was then part of Navarro County. They named their new home "Deer Creek" after the nearby creek that provided water for their crops and livestock. In 1853, Deer Creek became part of Johnson County when it was officially organized by an act of the Texas Legislature. The town continued to grow slowly but steadily with more families moving in and establishing farms. Railroad Development: In 1885, railroad developers began surveying land near Deer Creek for a potential route between Fort Worth and Cleburne. The railroad brought new opportunities for economic growth as it opened up trade routes to other cities and allowed farmers to transport goods more easily. As railroads often did during this time period, they created towns along their routes for workers and travelers to live or rest at while traveling. In 1886, these developers established a train depot on what is now Main Street in modern-day Crowley. This marked the beginning of significant growth for the town as businesses started popping up around the depot. Naming of Crowley: Originally called Forest Park due to its location near dense forests, residents decided to change the name of their town in honor of S.H.Parkers' son-in-law Pat Crowely (with one less "w"). It is said that Mr.Crowley's wife had suggested changing her husband's last name from Crawley (the spelling used until his death) because she didn't want him associated with gambling houses he ran before joining her father's business interests which included land and railroads. Incorporation: On September 20, 1951, Crowley was officially incorporated as a city with a population of just over 500 residents. The first mayor, A.W. "Dub" Shaw, led the city through its early stages of development and helped establish basic infrastructure such as water and sewer systems. Growth and Development: Throughout the latter half of the 20th century, Crowley continued to grow steadily with new businesses and industries moving into the area. In 1963, Interstate Highway I-35W was completed which further connected Crowley to other major cities in Texas. The discovery of natural gas deposits in nearby Johnson County in the late 1970s brought an economic boom to Crowley. The influx of oil companies looking for drilling sites brought jobs and increased revenue to the city. In recent years, Crowley has experienced rapid growth due to its proximity to Fort Worth's expanding urban sprawl. This growth has led to an increase in housing developments and commercial projects as well as an expansion of educational opportunities with several colleges opening campuses in or near Crowley. Modern-Day Community: Today, Crowley is a thriving community with a population estimated at around 18,000 residents. It boasts excellent schools including two high schools that consistently rank among the top schools in Texas. The city also offers various recreational activities for its residents such as parks, sports fields/courts, walking trails and an aquatic center featuring indoor/outdoor pools complete with slides and diving boards Crowley is known for being a close-knit community where neighbors know each other by name. Its annual Christmas parade draws thousands of visitors from all over North Texas who come together for this festive event. Conclusion: From its early days as a small farming town to its current status as a growing suburban community on the outskirts of Fort Worth, Crowley's history reflects resilience and adaptability. Through times of economic hardship or periods of rapid growth, its residents have always found a way to come together and build a strong community. As the city continues to evolve and grow, it will undoubtedly continue to be an important part of Texas history for years to come.

Crowley, Texas is a small city located just south of Fort Worth in Tarrant County. The city was originally settled in the late 1800s and named for S.H. Crowley, who owned most of the land in the area. The first settlers to arrive were primarily farmers and ranchers attracted by the fertile soil and abundant water sources provided by nearby Bear Creek and Deer Creek. These early pioneers built homes, churches, schools, and businesses that formed the foundation of what would become Crowley. In its early years, Crowley was a quiet farming community with few residents. However, things began to change when railroads were built through the area in the late 19th century. This brought more people to settle in Crowley as it became easier to transport goods such as crops and cattle to other parts of Texas. Throughout its history, agriculture has played a significant role in shaping Crowley's economy. In addition to farming and ranching activities, cotton gins were established here which helped boost local commerce even further. The town continued to grow steadily over time but remained relatively small until World War II when Camp Bowie (now known as Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth) was opened nearby. The influx of military personnel led to an increase in population and economic activity within Crowley. In 1951, Crowley officially incorporated as a city with a mayor-council form of government. By this time, there were several businesses operating including grocery stores, gas stations, hardware stores, restaurants, and other services that catered to both locals and military personnel stationed at Camp Bowie. As Fort Worth expanded southward during the latter half of the 20th century,Crowley experienced significant growth due to its close proximity. However, the city maintained its small-town charm despite this growth.Agriculture continued to be an important industry, but manufacturing also emerged as another major sector providing jobs for residents.By 1990,Crowley had nearly doubled its population from the previous decade and continued to grow in the years that followed. Today, Crowley is a thriving community with a diverse economy and growing population of over 15,000 residents. It has also become an attractive place for families to settle due to its affordable housing options, excellent schools, and numerous parks and recreational facilities. In recent years, the city has undergone significant development including new residential subdivisions, retail centers, and commercial buildings. However,Crowley still maintains its strong sense of community through events such as annual festivals like Old Town Days and Christmas Parade. Overall, the history of Crowley is one that reflects the resilience and determination of early settlers who built a town on hard work, family values, and faith. The city continues to honor this legacy while embracing progress and growth for its future generations.

Suzuki Marine is a leading manufacturer of outboard motors, personal watercraft, and boat engines. The company has been in operation since 1965 when it was founded by Michio Suzuki in Hamamatsu, Japan. Over the years, Suzuki Marine has expanded its reach to different parts of the world, including Crowley, Texas. Crowley is a city located in Tarrant County, Texas. It is situated between Fort Worth and Dallas and has a population of approximately 16,000 people. The city's economy revolves around agriculture and manufacturing industries such as steel production and oil refineries. However, one industry that has made a significant impact on Crowley’s economy is the marine industry. The history of Suzuki Marine in Crowley can be traced back to the early 1980s when they first established their presence in the United States market through a distribution center located in Los Angeles. In 1984, Suzuki Motor Corporation formed American Suzuki Corporation (ASC) to oversee its operations in North America. In 1986, ASC opened its first manufacturing facility for outboard motors outside of Japan – right here in Crowley! This new plant was built on an area spanning over 40 acres with plans to increase capacity over time as demand grew for their products. At this time period during which international markets were being explored more aggressively than ever before by Japanese companies like Yamaha or Honda who had already set up shop elsewhere within US borders; there was no better place than right here at home: where everything from labor costs down lower taxes meant greater profitability per unit sold once those units began rolling off these assembly lines! Suzuki's decision to establish their marine production facility in Crowley proved beneficial for both parties involved - providing jobs for local residents while also boosting economic growth for the city itself. With support from state officials who granted tax incentives and other benefits to encourage investment opportunities within Texas; it wasn't long before word got out about Suzuki's presence here and other companies began to follow suit. By the late 1980s, Suzuki Marine had become a major player in the marine industry. The Crowley facility was producing over 20,000 outboard motors annually and employing approximately 500 people. With such successful operations in place, Suzuki continued to expand its product line by introducing new models and improving existing ones. In the early 1990s, Suzuki introduced their first V6 engine for large boats which proved to be a game-changer for the company as it opened up a whole new market for them. This innovation further solidified their position as one of the top outboard motor manufacturers in North America. As technology advanced, so did Suzuki Marine's production processes. In 2007, they invested over $20 million in upgrading their facilities with state-of-the-art equipment and implementing lean manufacturing techniques to increase efficiency and reduce waste. These efforts resulted in an even higher-quality product being produced at lower costs – making it more competitive within the global market. In recent years, environmental concerns have become increasingly important in all industries including marine. In response to this shift towards eco-friendliness, Suzuki has been at the forefront of developing environmentally friendly marine engines that are more fuel-efficient and emit fewer emissions into waterways. These advancements not only benefit our planet but also provide boaters with a better experience on the water. Today, nearly four decades after establishing itself in Crowley; Suzuki Marine continues to thrive within its community while maintaining its reputation as one of the top manufacturers of outboard motors worldwide. The company has remained committed to providing quality products through continuous innovation and investment in research and development. Suzuki’s contribution towards economic growth cannot be overstated - not just locally but nationally too; with Texas' economy being ranked second largest among US states according to GDP figures released earlier this year (2021). It is clear that Suzuki Marine's decision back then has had a significant impact on the city of Crowley and its residents, making it an integral part of the community's history.

Suzuki Marine is a Japanese company that specializes in manufacturing outboard motors for boats and other marine applications. Founded in 1965, the company has become one of the leading players in the global marine industry, known for its high-quality products and innovative technology.
