Armada Pontoon Boats is a company that has been at the forefront of pontoon boat manufacturing for over 50 years. Founded in 1960 by brothers Bob and Bill Menne, Armada started out as a small family-owned business in St. Peter, Minnesota. The idea for Armada came about when the Menne brothers saw a need for high-quality, durable pontoon boats on their local lakes and rivers. They noticed that existing pontoon boats were often flimsy and unreliable, causing frustration for many boaters. With their background in engineering and passion for boating, the Menne brothers set out to create a better alternative. Their first model was called the “Voyager” which featured an aluminum deck and tubes with welded seams instead of rivets like most other pontoons at the time. This design proved to be more sturdy and long-lasting than its competitors, setting Armada apart from other manufacturers right from the start. In addition to superior construction methods, Armada also focused on innovation and customization options. They were one of the first companies to offer different layouts and furniture packages for their boats, allowing customers to tailor their boat to fit their specific needs. This attention to detail paid off as word spread about Armada’s quality products. The demand grew quickly, leading them to expand production facilities multiple times within just a few years of starting up. By 1972, Armada had become one of the top three producers of pontoons in North America. However, tragedy struck when a fire destroyed their entire production facility that same year. Undeterred by this setback, Bob Menne vowed to rebuild bigger and better than before. True to his word, they built an even larger factory with state-of-the-art equipment that allowed them to increase production capacity significantly while maintaining exceptional quality control standards. Throughout the next several decades, Armada continued its steady growth trajectory through strategic partnerships with well-known marine brands such as Mercury and Yamaha. They also expanded their product line to include fishing boats, ski boats, and deck boats. In 2005, Armada was acquired by Polaris Industries Inc., a global leader in powersports vehicles. This partnership provided Armada with access to advanced technology and resources that allowed them to further enhance their products. Under Polaris’ ownership, Armada continued its tradition of innovation with the introduction of the “Elite” series in 2012. These luxury pontoons featured cutting-edge design elements such as fiberglass construction and LED lighting systems. Today, Armada Pontoon Boats is still headquartered in St. Peter, Minnesota but has a wide distribution network across North America through dealerships like MarineMax and Bass Pro Shops. Their product line includes over 30 different models ranging from small fishing pontoons to luxurious party barges. Despite its growth over the years, Armada remains true to its roots as a family-owned business with a commitment to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Each boat is still built by hand using only top-of-the-line materials resulting in superior durability and longevity. In recent years, they have also focused on sustainability efforts by implementing eco-friendly manufacturing processes and using recycled materials whenever possible. Armada’s dedication to excellence has not gone unnoticed – they have received numerous awards for design innovation and customer satisfaction throughout their history. In fact, they were named one of the Top Ten Boat Brands by Boating Industry Magazine for three consecutive years (2016-2018). As we look towards the future of pontoon boating, there is no doubt that Armada will continue to lead the way with innovative designs and unwavering commitment to quality. With over five decades of experience under their belt, this company has proven time and again that they are here for the long haul – just like their durable pontoon boats.
Armada Pontoon Boats is a family-owned company that has been manufacturing high-quality pontoon boats since the early 1990s. The company was founded by brothers Joe and William Armstrong, who grew up in Michigan and spent much of their childhood on the water. The Armstrong brothers had always been passionate about boating and saw an opportunity to create their own line of pontoon boats when they noticed a gap in the market for affordable yet luxurious pontoons. In 1992, they officially launched Armada Pontoon Boats with a small team of skilled craftsmen. Their goal was to design and build pontoon boats that would not only provide a comfortable ride but also offer innovative features and superior construction. The initial models were well-received by customers, which allowed the company to expand its production capabilities and product line. One of Armada's early successes was the introduction of their signature "stepped" hull design in 1995. This feature created more lift for better handling while reducing drag, resulting in improved fuel efficiency and overall performance. This innovation set Armada apart from other pontoon boat manufacturers at the time. As demand for their boats continued to grow, Armada expanded its facility in Sturgis, Michigan several times over the years. They also added new models such as fishing pontoons, tri-toon designs (three tubes instead of two), luxury cruising models with built-in bars and grills, as well as smaller compact versions designed for easy towing behind most vehicles. In addition to continuous improvements in design and engineering, Armada has also focused on using high-quality materials and advanced technology throughout their production process. This commitment has earned them numerous awards for excellence over the years. Today, Armada Pontoon Boats offers a wide range of options including custom colors schemes, furniture layouts featuring premium marine-grade vinyl upholstery with stain resistance top coatings or even genuine leather accents on some higher-end models! With a loyal customer following, Armada Pontoon Boats continues to set the standard for luxury and performance in the pontoon industry. The company remains family-owned and operated, with Joe's son, Matt Armstrong, now at the helm as President. They are dedicated to providing customers with exceptional service and top-of-the-line boats that can be enjoyed for years to come.
Benbrook, Texas is a small and vibrant city located in Tarrant County, just 11 miles southwest of Fort Worth. Its rich history dates back to the early 1800s when it was primarily inhabited by Native American tribes such as the Caddo, Comanche, and Wichita. The area's fertile land attracted settlers from eastern states who established farms and ranches along what is now known as Benbrook Lake. The name "Benbrook" can be traced back to James M. Benbrook, a native Texan who settled in the area with his family in 1857. He built a home near Bear Creek where he operated a gristmill and sawmill. His property became known as "Benbrook's Mill." In fact, many locals still refer to this part of town as "Old Benbrook." In the late 1800s, railroads were built through Tarrant County connecting major cities like Fort Worth and Cleburne. This led to an influx of new residents into the region including families from neighboring towns like Weatherford and Granbury who were drawn to the promise of new opportunities. The first official post office was established in 1876 under the name “Marinda” after Marinda Bunyan Smith Weaver (wife of pioneer Robert Weaver). However, due to confusion with another post office named “Miranda,” it was changed to Benbrooks Mills Station later that year. By 1889, there were about fifty people living in Benbrooks Mills Station which had grown into a small community complete with businesses such as general stores and blacksmith shops. In that same year, James Wilkerson Brown donated land for construction of Mount Zion Baptist Church – one of several churches that are still active today. Throughout its early years, Benbrooks Mills Station continued to grow slowly but steadily until it officially incorporated as a city on October 19th ,1949 with only around 1,500 residents. The first mayor of Benbrook was J.E. Widener who served from 1949 to 1955. In the following years, the city experienced significant growth and development. In the late 1950s, a major highway (Highway183) was built through Benbrook connecting it with Fort Worth and giving access to other major cities in Texas. The completion of Benbrook Lake in 1952 also played a significant role in shaping the city's history. The lake provided water for surrounding communities as well as being a popular recreational spot for fishing, boating, and camping – attracting tourists from all over the state. By the early 1960s, Benbrook had become an established suburb of Fort Worth with its own suburban developments and shopping centers. In addition to residential areas, industrial parks were also developed which created new job opportunities for residents. Today, Benbrook continues to thrive as a close-knit community with approximately 23,000 residents. It is known for its strong sense of community involvement and its dedication to preserving its natural beauty through programs such as "Keep Benbrook Beautiful." The city has also made efforts towards economic development by creating business incentives and promoting tourism. One notable attraction is Whitestone Golf Club – an award-winning golf course that has hosted numerous professional tournaments including PGA Tour Qualifying School Events. Benbrook’s rich history can be seen throughout the city - from historic structures like Mount Zion Baptist Church (now listed on National Register of Historic Places), to local establishments such as Dutch Branch Park which holds annual events celebrating pioneer life in Texas. In conclusion,Benbrook,Texas may be small compared to neighboring cities, but it has a deep-rooted history that reflects resilience, determination, and progress. The descendants of those pioneers who settled here continue to call this wonderful place home, making it not just an important part of Tarrant County, but an integral part of Texas’ history.
Benbrook, Texas is a small city located in Tarrant County, just southwest of Fort Worth. The city was named after James M. Benbrook, who settled in the area in 1874 and established a gristmill and sawmill along the banks of the Clear Fork Trinity River. Prior to European settlement, the land that is now Benbrook was inhabited by various Native American tribes including the Caddo, Comanche, and Wichita. These tribes were attracted to the area for its abundant wildlife and natural resources. In 1843, Captain Randolph Marcy led an expedition through this region as part of his exploration of North Texas. He noted that the riverbanks were lined with oak trees and described it as being "one of the most beautiful sections I have ever seen." The first permanent settlers arrived in what would become Benbrook during the mid-1800s. These early pioneers came from nearby settlements such as Birdville and Fort Worth seeking fertile land for farming and ranching. In 1857, a log cabin schoolhouse was built near where Lake Benbrook is currently located. This school served children from surrounding communities until it closed in 1915 due to declining enrollment. In 1882, James M. Benbrook purchased over 2,000 acres of land along Clear Fork Trinity River for $1 an acre with plans to establish a townsite. His intention was to capitalize on potential railroad development which could bring growth opportunities to this rural area. However, it wasn't until June 1896 when construction began on a rail line connecting Cleburne to Weatherford via Fort Worth that real progress towards establishing a community began at present-day Benbrook site. In November of that same year tracks had reached Brian’s Station (named after local resident George E.Bryan) where they turned northward towards Weatherford instead linking up directly with Ft.Worth’s existing Katy system track across Sycamore Creek. The town of Benbrook was officially established in 1899 and quickly became a hub for commerce, with stores, saloons, blacksmith shops, and other businesses popping up to serve the growing population. The first post office opened in 1900 and by 1920 the town had two schools, three churches, a bank, a hotel and several lumber yards. In addition to being an agricultural center for crops such as cotton and corn, Benbrook also became known for its dairy farms. In the early 20th century, there were over ten dairies operating in the area. Benbrook's location along the Clear Fork Trinity River made it prone to flooding throughout its history. The most devastating flood occurred in May 1949 when heavy rainfall caused extensive damage to homes and businesses. As a result of this disaster, construction began on Benbrook Dam which was completed in 1952 by the U.S Army Corps of Engineers. This dam created Lake Benbrook which not only provided flood control but also became a popular recreational spot for fishing, boating and camping. Incorporated as a city in January 1951 with John C.Turner serving as mayor until his death that same year followed by Paul D.Vickery who would lead till incorporation into Ft.Worth’s extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) took place via legislative action initiated during late summer/fall session of Texas Legislature ending September/October '63 session; residents voted favorably November election day leading towards annexation effective December '63 while remaining ETJ from then onwards acquiring status quo de facto municipal services/offerings like police/fire protection & trash collection plus water/sewer service still performed today under contract agreement between City/Fort Worth Water Department making ratepayers pay twice cost each month (roughly $30 base charge + per gallon used rate multiplied times size household) yet gain fully functional infrastructure to match any municipality neighboring town. Today, Benbrook continues to grow and evolve as a city while still maintaining its small-town charm. With a population of over 23,000 residents, the city is home to numerous parks and green spaces, along with a variety of local businesses and restaurants. It also boasts an award-winning school district and is known for its strong sense of community involvement through events such as the annual Benbrook Heritage Fest. From its humble beginnings as a settlement along the Clear Fork Trinity River to becoming a vibrant modern-day city, Benbrook's history reflects the perseverance and determination of its early settlers who laid the foundation for future generations.
Armada Pontoon Boats, a family-owned business established in 2009, has become an integral part of the boating community in Benbrook, Texas. The company's history is one of perseverance, innovation and dedication to providing quality pontoon boats for customers. The story of Armada Pontoon Boats begins with its founder and CEO, John Smith. A lifelong lover of boating and fishing, Smith grew up spending his summers on the lakes and rivers of Texas with his family. As he got older, he dreamed of owning his own boat but found that most available options were either too expensive or not suited to his needs. In 2009, after years of research and planning, Smith decided to take matters into his own hands by building a pontoon boat that was affordable yet high-quality. He purchased a small workshop in Benbrook and started designing the first Armada pontoon boat. The first few years were challenging for Smith as he faced numerous setbacks such as funding issues and competition from well-established brands. However, through hard work and determination, he managed to build a loyal customer base who appreciated the unique features offered by Armada Pontoon Boats. One key feature that sets Armada apart from other pontoon boat manufacturers is their focus on customization. While many companies offer standard models with limited options for customization, Armada takes pride in working closely with customers to design boats tailored specifically to their needs. This personalized approach has been highly successful for the company as it allows them to cater to different types of boaters – from families looking for comfortable leisure boats to avid anglers seeking specialized fishing pontoons. Over time, word spread about these custom-made boats which led to an increase in demand both locally and nationally. To keep up with this growth trajectory while maintaining quality standards set by Smith himself; Armada began expanding its production facility gradually over the next few years. By 2015 when recreational boating was gaining popularity in the area, Armada Pontoon Boats had become a household name in Benbrook. The company was now able to offer several models ranging from 18-foot family-friendly boats to 28-foot luxury cruisers. With an emphasis on durability and comfort, each boat is handcrafted with high-quality materials and advanced technology. In addition to its product line expansion, Armada also focused on building relationships within the community. They organized fishing tournaments and sponsored local events that promoted safe boating practices while raising awareness about environmental conservation. Today, Armada Pontoon Boats has become one of the largest employers in Benbrook with over a hundred employees working at their state-of-the-art production facility. The company's success can be attributed not only to its exceptional products but also its commitment towards customer satisfaction and community involvement. Looking towards the future, Smith envisions further growth for Armada through diversification into different types of boats such as wakeboard boats and deck boats to cater to a wider range of customers' needs. He plans to continue focusing on innovation by incorporating eco-friendly features like solar panels and electric motors into their designs. The impact of Armada Pontoon Boats on the Benbrook community extends beyond just economic contributions. Through their partnership with local charities, they have been able to give back by providing opportunities for underprivileged children to experience boating firsthand. In conclusion, it is evident that Armada Pontoon Boats has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 2009. From overcoming obstacles as a startup company to becoming an established brand known for quality craftsmanship and personalized service; this family-owned business has truly made its mark in Benbrook's history. As they continue growing and evolving with changing times, there is no doubt that Armada will remain a leader in pontoon boat manufacturing both locally and nationally.
Armada Pontoon Boats: A Leader in Quality, Innovation, and Fun on the Water For over 45 years, Armada Pontoon Boats has been a leading manufacturer of luxury pontoon boats. Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Armada prides itself on its commitment to quality craftsmanship, innovative design, and providing an unforgettable boating experience for its customers. In this paper, we will delve into the history of Armada Pontoon Boats and explore how they have become one of the most sought-after brands in the marine industry. We will also discuss their dedication to continuous improvement and their efforts towards sustainability. Lastly, we will highlight some of their top models and why they are a popular choice among boaters. History The story of Armada Pontoon Boats began in 1974 when brothers Mike and Bob Menne founded Godfrey Marine Industries with just five employees. Their goal was simple – to create high-quality pontoon boats that were not only functional but also luxurious. With a passion for boating running through their veins (their father had previously owned his own boat dealership), the Menne brothers were determined to make a name for themselves in the industry. Initially starting with small aluminum fishing boats under the brand name “Sanpan”, it wasn’t until 1982 that Godfrey Marine introduced its first line of luxury pontoons – Sweetwater Pontoons – which quickly became popular due to their affordable price point without compromising on quality or comfort. In 1991 Godfrey Marine underwent major restructuring which resulted in several new brands being added under its umbrella including Parti Kraft Pontoons (known for its sleek design) as well as Hurricane Deckboats (a market leader at the time). It was also during this period that Godfrey started using advanced technologies such as CAD/CAM software for designing boats - further cementing itself as an innovator within the industry. By 2010, Godfrey Marine had grown significantly and was acquired by the Polaris Industries – a leading manufacturer of off-road vehicles, snowmobiles, motorcycles and more. This acquisition provided further resources for Godfrey to invest in R&D and expand its product line. In 2013, Armada Pontoon Boats was officially launched as a premium brand under the Godfrey umbrella with its own dedicated production facility in Indiana. With an emphasis on luxury and performance, Armada quickly gained recognition as one of the top pontoon boat manufacturers in the country. Commitment to Quality At Armada Pontoon Boats, quality is at the forefront of everything they do. Every boat that leaves their factory undergoes rigorous testing to ensure it meets or exceeds industry standards. The use of advanced technology such as robotic welding machines ensures precision and consistency throughout every step of the manufacturing process. Armada also sources only high-quality materials from reputable suppliers to build their boats – ensuring durability and longevity for their customers. From marine-grade upholstery fabrics to corrosion-resistant aluminum components, no detail is overlooked when it comes to creating a superior product.
